Interview with Nils Andersson on Supplier Experience Management

Interview with Nils Andersson on Supplier Experience Management

In a series of interviews which took place during the World Procurement Congress 2022 (WPC) in London, we spoke to a number of thought-leaders and experts from the Procurement and Supply Chain industries on their opinions on Supplier Experience Management (SXM) and the future of Procurement.

The aim of this 3-day congress was to ‘challenge the status quo’ and amplify the voices of those that are ‘pushing the boundaries on innovation, ESG and supply chain resiliency’ as they ‘deliver fresh insights, challenge conclusions, and provide action plans and recommendations’.

This is the sixth and final video on SXM in this series, in which we spoke to Nils Andersson. Nils is a Senior Manager – Head of Strategic Sourcing Process at Orkla.

For Nils an important part of Supplier Experience Management is segmentation. “It is something that we have been doing for a while as well but need to increase. So, we need to change so we don’t just work with suppliers in the same way. Large suppliers are, of course, different to smaller suppliers. We also need to look at more of a win-win situation with suppliers,” he believes.

Watch the full interview with Nils as he discusses:

  • How to start shifting the view to the suppliers’ perspective and work accordingly
  • The benefits enterprises can expect by successfully adopting SXM practices
  • Various practical steps enterprises can take to get started

Nils concludes by explaining what they have started doing at Orkla to improve supplier experience. “We are trying to ensure that we have all the information about our suppliers in one place and that we don’t ask the same questions to the suppliers, but we are also then trying to create good data,” he adds.
